Keeping in Touch with Customers and Prospects | Groundhog Day Promotion

Groundhog Day Marketing IdeasYou’ve heard me talk about  it before – keep in touch with your current and past customers regularly so that they come back to you next time they are ready for your product or services and refer you to their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Have fun with it!  Be creative!  A great way to show customer appreciation  is to take advantage of smaller holidays and celebrations.  You’ll stand out from the crowd and be remembered.

Get Ready – Groundhog Day is Just Around the Corner – February 2nd

Everyone is always waiting for the results  – is Spring on the way or will winter last another six months? Punxsutawney Phil, the infamous groundhog,  will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. February 2nd and make his prediction.  If he sees his shadow and retreats back into his burrow we’ve got six more weeks of winter ahead of us. Do you believe this ancient folklore?

What Does this Have to Do with Customer Retention You Might Be Asking

Groundhog’s Day provides an opportunity to keep in touch, communicate and have fun.  Here are two ideas:

1.  Prepare a Quiz – How Much Do You Know About Groundhog’s Day?  Promote it on your website, via social media and in your newsletter.  Have a grand prize for those who get all correct and a smaller prize for those who answer 50% correctly.  Be sure to announce the winners – another opportunity to keep in touch.

2.  Create a Special Promotion – 10% off if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow and 20% if he doesn’t celebrating the onset of Spring!
